Six-time Emmy Award-winning documentary filmmaker Karyl Evans has combined landscape
architecture and filmmaking to create The Life and Gardens of Beatrix Farrand. The documentary
is an inspiring film about Beatrix Farrand’s challenging life and her stunning 50-year career as a
landscape architect. Evans has produced many documentaries, including Letter from Italy, 1944: A
New American Oratorio narrated by Meryl Streep, which won Karyl the 2016 “Most Outstanding
Director” Emmy Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
Ms. Evans will have DVDs of her film available for purchase at the screening.
