Joshua First will discuss the award winning V&E Greenline that was built on an old railroad line and has become a centerpiece of the Vollintine-Evergreen community. The 1.7 mile trail provides a natural, serene space for walking, running, exercising pets, bike riding, and observing wildlife. It also includes two pedestrian bridges, flower gardens, and  Arboretum. The V&E Greenline is unique for its community spirit — almost all funding comes from donors and most work on the trail is performed by volunteers. Join us to hear about this inspiring example of community engagement.

Joshua’s presentation will be held at the Memphis Botanic Garden at 7:00 p.m. It’s free for Memphis Horticultural Society members, but guests are asked to make a $5 donation at the door.
