Why hostas are the number one perennial sold in the US and why gardeners love them!

Susan Ragsdale has been raising hostas in Petersburg TN for almost 10 years. Her Critterhaven Gardens 1-acre property is now home to almost 1,000 different varieties of hosta and other perennial plants.

Julie Lewter loves all things green and gardening. Her fascination with hostas began 43 years ago with a gifted plant from  her new mother in law of a small plant later identified as Hosta undulata “Univittata” with the challenge of “lets see if you can grow something.”  Who knew such a love of plants could stem from a small gifted plant?
