Greenhouse and Cutting Garden Manager Kim Rucker will show home gardeners how to start seeds using environmentally sound methods and supplies. Not your usual seed-starting session, Kim will give instructions on how to collect seeds from different plants as it is done at the Dixon, and participants will use seeds collected from the Dixon grounds including Dixon Tiarella (foamflower) and Aquilegia canadensis (columbine). Participants will receive handouts on collecting and saving seeds from different plants in the home landscape and their own seeds and seed saving kits to take home. All supplies provided.
