Memphis Horticultural Society – The Changing Garden Paradigm with Dr. Gary R. Bachman

Join us for a presentation by Dr. Gary R. Bachman on “The Changing Garden Paradigm”, a look at how gardeners’ perceptions and expectations have been changing over the last 10 to 20 years.Gary is Extension/Research Professor of Horticulture at the Coastal Research & Extension Center, Mississippi State University in Biloxi, MS. He is also the host of the award winning Mississippi State University Extension Service’s Southern Gardening TV, radio, newspaper and Social Media franchise.
Gary was previously on the faculty at Tennessee Tech University and Illinois State University. He received his BS and MS at Clemson University and PhD at THE Ohio State University.
Gary and his wife Katie, who is a consultant for IBM, live in Ocean Springs, MS. They are urban homesteaders and operate Heritage Cottage designed to be a demonstration urban farm to grow an abundance of locally grown specialty vegetables and produce all year long.
Gary’s presentation begins at 7:00 p.m. Refreshments at 6:30 p.m.
