Join us for this virtual program via Zoom with Dr. Dawn Manning, Chief Teacher/Naturalist & Wildlife Biologist at the Lichterman Nature Center.
White-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus) are one of North America’s most abundant large mammals and have become overpopulated in every county in the state of Tennessee. Inevitably, due to habitat loss and development, the homes of humans and deer merge, causing deer/human conflicts. Though it can be difficult, using a mostly “trial and error” approach, there are several ways to keep deer out of the garden. Each method works differently for each garden by taking into account, the size of the garden area, crops grown, native plants used, goals of the gardener and desired look of the landscape. Dr. Manning will cover these various methods so you can determine what will be successful for you.
You can join this meeting several ways, and do not need a Zoom account to participate.
