SUMMARY:Memphis Horticulture Meeting - November 3 - "Conifers for the Mid-South" with Dale Skaggs
DESCRIPTION:The Mid-South is blessed with a plethora of broad-leaved evergreens\, but there are a fair number of lesser-known cone-bearing plants that we can grow.  Conifers are growing in popularity in the southeastern United States. They provide contrast both to each other and to our well-known evergreens.  They also make striking specimens to take your garden to the next level.  Explore the ones that work well locally. \n\n\n\nDale Skaggs is Director of Horticulture at Dixon Gallery and Gardens.  He is a native Memphian and holds a BS degree in Horticulture from Oregon State University and a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture and Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Oregon. \n\n\n\nDale’s presentation will be held in the Winegardner Auditorium at the Dixon Gallery and Gardens at 6:00 p.m. It’s free for Memphis Horticulture members\, but guests are asked to make a $5 donation at the door. Join us at 5:30 p.m. for refreshments and visiting with friends. We always appreciate contributions to the refreshment table.
